KOLB was founded in 1910 by Mr. Kolb sen.. In those days KOLB manufactured screws and metal parts by milling and turning operations. With the development of stainless steel since 1932, KOLB became one of the first experts for manufacturing fasteners of these new materials. In 1956, turning and milling was replaced by the new method of forging.
1975 the ITT Corporation, New York, took over the company from Mr. Kolb jun..
Since 1979 KOLB manufactured
customized screws made of stainless steel for the automotive industry.
1996 was the year, when Friedrich Mann, Heiko Rahm and Bernd Schweighoefer took over KOLB from ITT and are now acting as managing directors.
KOLB nowadays produces customized fasteners by forging high temperature alloys and stainless steel.
